Too Faced - Chocolate Bar Palette
Hey guys, so I'm giving you guys a review on the OG chocolate bar palette from Too Faced. This palette is one of the very first palettes I bought when I got into makeup, I think my absolute first was the Vice 4 palette by Urban Decay, which thinking of it now was not a great choice on my part.
Seeing as this was one of my first palettes it holds a very special place in my heart, however my review of this palette will be entirely honest and not biased due to how I look back on this purchase.
The first place I will start in this review is the packaging, like the rest of the chocolate bar clan of palettes they are shaped like a chocolate bar and are honestly too cute for their own good.
The palette is metal and has a magnetic closure to keep it shut, as you can see this is not 100% clean and has some smudges, but it is like this because I use it so often.
(Seriously though is the packaging not so adorable?)
Here is what the inside looks like, again please disregard that it is dirty, this is one well loved palette and if I cleaned it every time I used it the names of the shadows would have totally rubbed off.
(You can see by the indents in some of the shadows which are my favourite!)
Before I insert the photos of the swatches of each of the shadows I want to tell you guys that the pigmentation is absolutely phenomenal, there is literally one shade in this palette that isn't that pigmented but I assure you and you will get to see that the rest of them are great. The shades are all buttery and smooth, extremely easy to blend and would work amazingly on all skin tones. This is my staple palette, if they ever discontinued making this I would be devastated. Just like the rest of the chocolate bar palettes this one smells just like chocolate and what is not to love about that.
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to my boyfriend for letting me use his arm since mine is so much shorter and I would have had to take like 4 pictures to capture them all. You can see there is a mix of matte shades, shimmers, and metallic's. My favourite shades from this picture are the second swatch on the left which is Salted Caramel, the fifth swatch from the left Marzipan, the ninth swatch from the left Milk Chocolate and the last swatch Champagne Truffle. I couldn't fit all of the shades on his arm so here are the last two, the first swatch shows the shade in the palette I was talking about that isn't as pigmented as the rest and it is called Triple Fudge. I'm not too upset about it since that shade is way too dark for me anyway.
This palette has 16 shades and is $59 Canadian and $49 American, you can buy it directly from the Too Faced site or From Sephora & Ulta.
I give this palette a 10/10 rating just because it has everything I need and it is such high quality shadows.
