Make Up For Ever - Artistic (Holiday 2016) Artist Palette Review
Hey guys, today I'm going to give you swatches of the Make Up For Ever 2016 holiday palette. I know what you're thinking 'why are you showing us now when we can't buy it?' well you can, some Marshalls have gotten these in stock and if you see one you should seriously grab it!
I know what you guys are probably thinking, in the container they look kind of lack luster but let me tell you something looks are deceiving in this case! All of the swatches are done without using an eye shadow primer.
I'm listing the swatches from right to left!
The first shade is ME122 Snow, its a cool toned white metallic shade, this looks amazing on the brow bone, the inner corner, and even as a face highlight (especially if you're pale like me). This shadow is incredibly pigmented and catches light like a dream, there is no fallout with this shade, however it is slightly textured.
The Second shade is S102 Onyx, this is the only shade in the palette that doesn't have glitter or shimmer in it, however it is a satin shade, its extremely opaque and creamy as well as pigmented, this swatch was with one swipe, I can't get over how opaque and creamy this shade is as blacks are usually patchy and dry.
The third shade is ME108 Steel, the name is extremely fitting this is literally the colour of steel and quite frankly gun metal, the pigmentation is amazing and this is really pretty on the center of the eye with the black shade blended on the inner and outer corner creating a halo effect.
The fourth shade is D552 Crystalline Gray Beige, this shade is more of a shimmer shade in that it has literal glitter in it, and it was the runt of the group in that it was slightly less creamy and definitely textured, this also has minor fall out.
The fifth shade is ME614 Graphite Brown, this shade was also a metallic, its a deep brown shade and the same as Snow it is extremely pigmented and has zero fallout, but it does have a slight texture to it although it is still creamy.
The sixth shade is I220 Sapphire, this shadow i would say is in between that of a satin and a shimmer, there was no loose glitter but its still shiny with almost a sheen i'd say. Fair warning with this shadow it does stain, at least it did on my pale skin, I had a blue tint on my eyes for two days, but the colour is pretty I deal with it.
The seventh shade is D712 Creme Brulee, this shade was definitely a metallic shade with very finely milled glitter in it, this shade was still creamy and extremely blendable. It didn't have much texture to it and there was no fallout upon application and all day wear.
The eighth shade is ME302 Peacock, this shade is definitely one of the most unique shades I have in my collection, its a brown based shadow with a emerald green shift, I would classify this as a metallic duo chrome shadow, its extremely creamy and blenable with zero fallout, I recommend using this shade with your finger for the best results.
The ninth shade is ME912 Orchid, this shadow is another metallic shadow and is a really pretty lilac/orchid purple which brings a punch with it. This shadow is extremely pigmented and creamy, with no fallout.
Overall I have to say i'm extremely impressed with this palette, I had never tried their eye shadows before and I am going to have to pick up some more, they are extremely impressive.
I rate this product a 5/5!
